We are a unique hairdressing salon in the centre of Newcastle, we are able to offer a diverse range of treatments, from the traditional to the latest contemporary treatments like IHR Straightening and relaxing Indian Head massages to human hair extensions using pre-waved and straight hair. We take pride in the fact that we are a small salon. We offer a one-to-one service from start to finish, which means we don’t have that conveyer belt, production line feeling. The atmosphere is warm and relaxing, in a character filled building with loads of ambience. Most importantly, we are down to earth and approachable.
All our stylists are state registered or have advance certificates in hairdressing and beauty. Some have even won awards. All take an active part in updating their skills, doing various courses and regular training. Don’t be surprised to see them doing other diverse things, some have alternative and unusual qualifications.
At as one we use Schwarzkopf pruducts.. It is important that a skin test is carried out for all our new colour clients at least 48 hours before the treatments. This does not apply to hi or low lights, as the colour does not touch the scalp. We use Cinderella extensions as well as other leading brands. For more info have a look at our extension guide.
Long hair and up-styling are one of our specialities. Whether it’s a formal or a more casual look you want, we will be able to please. Wedding packages are also available. We can do home visits for your special day, have a look at our wedding guide for more info.

Hair Treatments
Ionic Hair Retexturising (IHR)IHR is targeted to straighten and improve the manageability of various hair types such as natural curly and frizzy hair, dehydrated, damaged and coarse hair; and hair that is lacking in vitality.
IHR is not just a hair straightening or a hair perming system. It is entirely different from any other similar products available in the market place.
IHR performs the best hair straightening result without any damage to the hair. Subsequently, due to the unique ionising technology, the texture and condition of IHR treated hair will be miraculously improved.

We believe to achieve the best results for our clients a one on one service from start to finish is best. Cinderella Hair Extensions
Cinderella hair extensions can be used to add volume to you hair or to create vibrant flashes of colour and highlights without colouring your hair. As well as adding extra length you can now choose from different waves or curls as well as straight hair.
Cinderella Hair Extensions need to be replaced on average every 3 to 4 months. Good quality products have to be used on the hair. Some high street brands contain silicone or oils that make the bonds slide or they are not moisturising enough. So we recommend that you purchase our retail products to maintain the condition of the hair.
Cinderella Hair Extensions are protein pre-bonded method which is comfortable, and not harmful to the condition of your hair; no glue is used in application. All Cinderella is cuticle correct, this prevents the cuticle from fraying and split ends appearing, leaving you with healthier hair extensions with ultimate shine. These are most manageable extensions.

ASONE JOINS NATIONAL NETWORK TO SUPPORT WOMEN WITH MEDICAL HAIR LOSSInspired by the inspirational press coverage of "My New Hair” and Ruth’s one to one experience with clients dealing with hair loss. Ruth Curran and Karla Robb has just completed an intensive one day wig personalisation course led by leading hairdresser Trevor Sorbie at the L’Oreal Professionel head quarters in London.
Ruth Curran and Karla Robb not only received intensive direction on working with and fitting wigs for clients with Trevor Sorbie himself, but also took part in a communications workshop lead by cancer nurses from The Communication Equation Ltd. who are experienced in helping people improve their communication skills, particularly when dealing with sensitive and difficult situations. An invaluable part of the training, this element of the seminar has been designed to help "My New Hair” associates put even the most vulnerable clients at ease, allowing the nurses to answer questions and share their professional knowledge and insight with the group.
Ruth Curran and Karla Robb join a national network of over 30 professional hairdressers who are offering their services up and down the country to patients who are suffering from medical hair loss. This list includes other notable industry names including Andrew Collinge, Mark Hill, Andrew Mulvenna, and Charles Worthington. Trevor aims to train at least 400 hairdressers on his programme over the next 2 years to deliver the "My New Hair” service in salons and healthcare environments.
